Description

"We walk the narrow path
Beneath the smoking skies
Sometimes, we can barely tell the difference
Between darkness and light.

Do we have faith in what we believe?
The truest test is when we cannot, when we cannot see.

I hear pounding feet in the streets below
And the women cry and the children know
There is something wrong
It's hard to believe that love will prevail

It won't rain all the time
The sky won't fall forever
And though the night seems long
Your tears won't fall forever"

I told you there would be more.

My second peice of fanart for the PotO fanfic "A Feast for Crows" by Twisted. I'll say it again, this isn't one to be missed.

Although there hasn't been much going on between Erik and Christine, I couldn't resist drawing some fanart of the two (no surprise there). Yes, that is Christine in the pic. Instead of being traditionally brunette, masses of curly hair, petite and gorgeous as she's described in most versions and phics alike, Twisted's Christine is described as having longish, straight blonde hair, a full figure, and rather plain. Once again, a reason why I respect this work so much, as well as being a little more true to Leroux's original work. She's not, however, a weepy little pushover. This Christine's got sass, and not afraid to stand up for herself.

As far as her relationship with Erik goes, there isn't much of one yet. There has been a fair amount of interaction, in one sense or another, but the spark hasn't exactly ignited just as yet. In fact, Erik's so far been a little indifferent and has shown little interest in her, and their relationship thus far has been awkward and tense. Christine's drawn to him in a sense, however; to his confusing character, his pain, his mystery, and most of all, his voice. Her thoughts exactly are something like this...

"Christine fought down a flash of annoyance at how easily the man before her played with her emotions. In one breath, he was a completely unrepentant ass that she would dearly love to bitch-slap, and in the next he was kind, loyal, and hurting in such a way that she wanted to draw him into her arms."

~AFFC, Chapter X

That's where the composition of the picture comes in. Erik, in a funk, not really noticing that he's not alone, and Christine, still keeping her distance, but beginning to lean in out of curiosity and a smidgen of compassion. The contact between them in minimal and delicate, but the slightest imbalance will cause them to fall into one another.

I think. I'm not too sure how deep the phic will get into the actual relationship. It's been that shady so far, and it's why I'm so anxious to see how she'll pull them together, if that is indeed the path the phic will go down.

*pants* Wow, I think I can write cliffnotes for this.

I first got the idea to do this when I was listening to the last track of The Crow soundtrack, "It Can't Rain All the Time" by Jane Siberry. Such a beautiful song. Too perfect to pass up.
